A move-in cleaning is a whole-home deep clean of a place before you move in — while it's still empty. Because there's no furniture, every cabinet, drawer, closet shelf, appliance, and baseboard is fully accessible, so it's the ideal moment to sanitize the kitchen and bathrooms and get the whole home genuinely clean before your family, your food, and your furniture arrive.
Isn't the home already clean from the previous tenant's move-out?
Not always — and even when the last occupant paid for a move-out clean, standards vary and turnover is rushed. A move-in clean is your own peace of mind: you decide it's sanitized to your standard before your kids crawl on the floors, before you cook in the kitchen, and before anyone uses the bathrooms. It's the difference between hoping it's clean and knowing it is.
How long does a move-in cleaning take?
It depends on the size and condition of the home. An empty studio or 1-bedroom can be done in 3–4 hours; a 3-bedroom that needs kitchen and bathroom detail can run 6–8 hours. We confirm the time estimate during the free walk-through so there are no surprises.
Should I schedule the cleaning before my furniture arrives?
Yes — an empty home is the best time to clean. With nothing in the way we can reach every surface, clean inside every cabinet and closet, and mop and vacuum wall-to-wall. If you've already partially moved in we can still help, but scheduling before the furniture arrives gets you the most thorough result.
Do you clean inside the oven, refrigerator, and microwave?
Yes. Microwave interior is included, and oven and refrigerator interiors are included on move-in jobs (heavy degreasing on a badly-neglected oven can be a small add-on). Sanitizing the fridge and oven before you use them is one of the biggest reasons people book a move-in clean.
Do you steam clean the carpets as part of a move-in clean?
Carpet cleaning is our core service, so it's a natural add-on to a move-in job. The move-in clean itself includes vacuuming; carpet hot-water extraction (steam cleaning) or encapsulation — the deep clean that removes the previous occupant's dirt and allergens — is quoted on top, by room. An empty home is the perfect time to steam the carpets: nothing to move, and they dry before your furniture arrives. Just ask during the walk-through.
Do you work with military families on PCS move-ins?
Yes. We work with military families across Oahu moving into off-base homes and rentals on PCS orders. We can't access on-base installations, but for your off-base move-in we deep clean the whole home and do our best to accommodate tight PCS timelines.
What's NOT included in a move-in cleaning?
Repairs, painting, mold remediation, hoarding cleanup, biohazard cleanup, and pest removal are outside the scope of cleaning — those require licensed specialists, and we'll point you to the right trade. Exterior windows and pressure washing are quoted separately if you need them.
